Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins have still yet to agree on a contract, and with training camp right around the corner, things are not looking good for a deal to be done before the start of camp.
Training camp begins on Wednesday for the Boston Bruins, and Elliotte Friedman has reported that the Boston Bruins are still far apart in contract negotiations, with Swayman reportedly asking for $9.5-$10 million on his next contract, and the Bruins offering him $6-$6.5 million.
The way it looks, is that Boston Bruins newest goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, who was acquired from the Ottawa Senators in the Linus Ullmark trade, will be the Bruins main goalie during training camp.
There have also been some reports that the Boston Bruins may end up running with a duo of Joonas Korpisalo, and Brandon Bussi to begin the regular season this year.
The Boston Bruins have until December 1st to sign Jeremy Swayman to a contract, or Swayman will not be able to play in any games during the 2024-25 season or the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
This wouldn't be a surprise if it came down to the wire on December 1st, as Jeremy Swayman has the same agent as William Nylander, and when Nylander was last due for a contract, he sat out until minutes before the deadline on December 1st, then finally signed a contract.
Do you think the Boston Bruins will begin the season without Jeremy Swayman?
