Milan Lucic is a well-known figure in the Boston Bruins' history, having spent the first eight seasons of his NHL career with the team. However, as he returns to the Bruins this season on a one-year deal, he finds himself among mostly new faces. Only Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak remain from Lucic's previous stint with the team.

This leaves Lucic with the task of getting to know his new teammates, including Jake DeBrusk. DeBrusk briefly crossed paths with Lucic during the latter's time with the Edmonton Oilers.

Despite Lucic's intimidating reputation, DeBrusk found him to be a surprisingly friendly and humorous individual.

Off the ice, Lucic may be amiable, but his playing style is characterized by physicality. He has recorded over 200 hits in nine seasons, most recently during the 2021-22 campaign with the Calgary Flames. Lucic's 168 hits last season would have ranked him second on the Bruins' roster.

DeBrusk and the Bruins welcome Lucic's imposing physical presence back to the team, adding depth and grit to their lineup.
