Brad Marchand faced a tough sequence last night against the Columbus Blue Jackets, and it was clear that he was in pain afterwards while sitting on the Bruins bench.
Friday night, the Bruins were hosted by the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena in the first meeting of a home-and-home between the two teams, and things got ugly for the Boston Bruins.
This game got out of hand for the Boston Bruins, and the Columbus Blue Jackets completely took over in the second period, but that wasn't the worst thing that happened for the Bruins.
During the third period things got ugly for Bruins captain Brad Marchand, as Jack Johnson gave him a piece of his own medicine.
With just over 8 minutes remaining in the game, Jack Johnson decided to give Brad Marchand a low blow, and hit Marchand in his genital area with his stick, causing him to drop to the ground, but that wasn't the end of it.
While he was down on the ice clearly in pain from the cheap shot he just took, Boston Bruins defenseman Mason Lohrei decided it was a good idea to shoot the puck at Marchand's behind while he was down on the ice.
Lohrei fired a shot towards the net, but Marchand would catch it right in his butt, adding to his pain.
