Veteran defenseman Anton Stralman was signed to a one-year, $1 million contract after a very successful PTO with the Boston Bruins. But why has he only been able to appear in one game for the Bruins this season?

Stralman played his first game of the season on Tuesday night when the Bruins visited the Ottawa Senators. Joe Haggerty of Boston Hockey Now recently explained why that was his only game:

''The newly signed Anton Stralman suited up for his first game for the Boston Bruins against the Ottawa Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre, even though his visa issues are still apparently ongoing in the United States''

''Unfortunately, it sounds like the Bruins may not have Stralman back in the lineup later this week when they return to Boston for a spate of home dates as they «expeditiously» attempt to get his work visa issues in order.''

Stralman seems to be having some work visa issues that prevent him from playing games that take place in the United States, which is something he doesn't have to worry about in Canada. Hence why he was eligible to play in Ottawa on Monday night.

Boston is said to be working on expediting the 36-year-old defenseman's visa issues sorted out so he can play in the states soon.
