Veteran Phil Kessel broke the NHL's ''Ironman Streak'' for the most consecutive games played when he appeared in his 990th straight against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, October 25th.
NHL Public Relations captured some behind-the-scenes footage of the historic night, with an in-depth look at how a guy like Kessel was able to make such an accomplishment. Featuring himself, his father, Phil Kessel Sr. and Vegas Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy, take a look at the emotional video below.
Kessel began his career with the Boston Bruins way back in 2006, while the streak officially started when the Bruins traded him to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2009.
