This morning, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced that the team has signed defenseman Jakub Zboril to a two-year contract extension with an annual NHL cap hit of $1,137,500.
The 25-year-old played in 10 games for the Bruins in 2021-22, recording three assists, before requiring surgery in December to repair a torn ACL, which kept him out of the lineup for the remainder of the season. The 6'1", 191 lb. defenseman has appeared in 54 career NHL games with Boston, recording 12 assists. In 182 career AHL games with Providence, Zboril has recorded 11 goals and 46 assists for 57 points.
The Brno, Czech Republic native, was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the first round (13th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
