The Boston Bruins lost game two by a score of 5-2 and are now 2-0 in the best of seven series against the Carolina Hurricanes.

However, after tonight's game, the Bruins may have lost more than just on the scoreboard. Late in the second period, defenseman Hampus Lindholm was on the wrong end of a massive open-ice hit from Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov.

It was a hit that Lindholm definitely didn't see coming till the last second, and he was in immediate trouble. As he was trying to get to his feet, he was visibly shaken and had to get back down on one knee until the trainer got there. He would eventually have to be helped off the ice and did not return to the game.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy gave an update on Hampus Lindholm after the game:

"He's not doing well ... It [the hit] looked high to me, and that's why he left the game; he has an upper-body injury. It was on time, certainly, but it looked high, and they [referees] didn't see it that way. Sometimes those get reviewed, sometimes they don't. I don't know if this one will; I haven't heard anything."

Cassidy also discussed the lack of discipline all through the lineup, and if they want to have any chance in this series, the Bruins will have to stay out of the box against a very good Hurricanes powerplay.
