The Boston Bruins were down 3-0 just 1:10 into the second period against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes starting goaltender Antti Raanta was injured in the first period, and their third-string Pyotr Kochetkov is now in net. It was confirmed that Raanta would not be returning to game two. Boston has mustered just nine shots against the rookie in over 20 minutes of play.
With the lack of offense from the entire Bruins team, Bruce Cassidy has reunited "The Perfection Line" of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak. It appears that Trent Frederic may have been benched as Taylor Hall was skating in his position with Charlie Coyle and Craig Smith.
However, Hall is also playing regular shifts with Erik Haula and Jake Debrusk on the second line.
The Boston Bruins badly need a surge of offense as they have now been outscored 24-2 by the Carolina Hurricanes in the regular season and playoffs.
Should The Perfection Line stay together?
