The Boston Bruins media team released a need to know' ahead of tonight's NHL Entry Draft.

With this statement:

'' The Bruins have six picks on the board entering the 2022 NHL Draft at Bell Centre, which begins on Thursday night (ESPN, 7 p.m. ET) with the opening round and continues on Friday morning (NHL Network, 11 a.m. ET) with the remaining six rounds.''

General manager Don Sweeney spoke to the media in Montreal yesterday. One of the main points of the draft was trying to acquire a first round pick.

Which they currently do not have.

'Ideally, we'd like to get back into the first round 'It's a difficult exercise. Several teams are sitting on the outside as other teams have positioned themselves with multiples. As disappointing as that is, we're focusing on finding the best players that we possibly can and continue to add to the skill set of our group.''

'There's a lot of conversations going on. Some teams are just in pick acquisition mode, so they're not necessarily in player acquisition mode. That's made it a little harder barrier to entry in that situation. And then giving up good players - when you're a competitive team, it's hard to part with really good players even though you know you'd like to get back into the first round and improve your prospect pool overall.'

Bruins 2022 Draft Board:
