The Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning have went back-and-forth all series long, but none of the games have been close, with three of the first four games ending by a margin of more than three goals.
Tonight looked like it was going the same way as the Lightning grabbed an early 2-0 lead just over six minutes into the game and outshot the Leafs 14-4. After the first, it looked like Toronto was going to get run over all night by Tampa Bay.
Early in the third period, the game seemed to take a turn, and it turned into one of the best games of the playoffs. With the Leafs down 2-1, they scored two goals at four-on-four just three minutes into the third period to take a 3-2 lead. Ryan McDonagh tied the game back at 3-3 just four minutes later.
Then, the league's leading goal scorer, Auston Matthews, capped off an impressive third period for the Maple Leafs with a perfect shot for a rebound pass by Mitchell Marner to take the lead with just over six minutes to play in the third.
