Mike Meeker a former NHL player tragically passed away at age
The hockey community is mourning the loss of a former NHL player Mike Meeker who played for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The NHL Alumni reported this morning on X (twitter) that former Pittsburgh Penguins player Mike Meeker has tragically passed away at the age of 66.
Drafted 25th overall in the 1978 Entry draft, Meeker did not have a long career in the NHL as he would only play four games for the Pittsburgh Penguins who ended up drafting him. He would spend his career playing abroad in North America in leagues like the NCAA, OHL, AHL, and would also play a bit in Sweden.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mike Meeker's family and friends as they navigate through this tough time. Losing someone is never easy, may he rest in peace.
