After winning game one of their series on the road, the Los Angeles Kings were in good spirits as the lower seed. Unfortunately, the Edmonton Oilers came back with a dominant 6-0 win in game two and an 8-2 victory Friday night in game three.

The loss was embarrassing for everyone on the Kings squad. Veteran goaltender Jonathan Quick let in four goals on 17 shots and was replaced by youngster Cal Petersen. Who did not fair very much better by allowing four goals on 20 shots.

(The Oilers became the first team in NHL history to win by six or more goals in consecutive playoff games after losing the first game of the series.)

Los Angeles Kings' head coach Todd McLellan is the former head coach of the Edmonton Oilers. He was behind the bench in Edmonton from 2015 to 2018 and led the team to game seven of the Western Conference Semifinals in 2017. Oilers' current head coach Jay Woodcroft was McLellan's assistant with the San Jose Sharks and the Edmonton Oilers.

McLellan was clearly frustrated with his team's effort and the result last night. He gave the media the ultimate to-the-point press conference after the game.
