The Boston Bruins started the 2022-23 season with an already depleted backend, with Charlie McAvoy and Matthew Grzelcyk on the sidelines due to off-season procedures.

The Bruins also lost Brandon Carlo on Saturday night after taking a big hit in the first period against the Arizona Coyotes, and he was placed on the IR this morning with an upper-body injury. Of course, the worry is the long concussion history that Carlo has already had in his seven-year career.

Because of this, the Bruins re-called defenseman Dan Renouf from Providence of the AHL to help an injury-riddled blueline.

But where's Anton Stralman?

General manager Don Sweeney brought in veteran Stralman on a PTO, who later signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the club. But why hasn't he skated in the Bruins' first two games?

Apparently, the 36-year-old has been having issues that have nothing to do with an injury or hockey. As per Joe Haggerty of Boston Hockey Now:

''Anton Stralman not eligible to play quite yet as the Boston Bruins work out the visa paperwork for the veteran defenseman.''

Hopefully, he can get the issue with his VISA worked out, as with Carlo now on the injured reserve; Boston only has one right-shot defenseman in Connor Clifton.
