The NHL is looking to make another expansion, and these two cities have emerged as the top runners to get the next NHL team.

Ever since the Arizona Coyotes have relocated and the Seattle Kraken got a team with the NHL, they have been looking to expand and get even bigger.

An NHL agent has stated that the league may be looking to add another team, and there are two front runners to become the next team in the NHL.

Allan Walsh has stated that Gary Bettman is currently in talks with Houston and Atlanta to have hockey teams in their cities, which would push the league to 34 teams if this did happen.

Gary Bettman has faced a lot of hate as he seems to love the idea of an expansion team as long as it is not in Canada. Quebec would be a perfect fit for an expansion team, but it seems Gary Bettman is just ignoring the fact on bringing in another Canadian team.

Allan Walsh stated that the NHL expanding to 34 teams will happen, he just isn't sure when it will.

«It's not a question of 'If?', it's a question of 'When?' for the next NHL expansion process, and we will reach 34 teams. I predict that the price to pay for each of the two new franchises will be $1.5 billion for the franchise purchase, more than double what Seattle had to pay in 2021.»

- Allan Walsh

The idea of Canada getting another team is amazing, but it seems like the NHL's next two teams will be American.
