As we all know, Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron had a very special night against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.
Bergeron recorded his eighth career hat-trick in a 5-0 win, but that's not all; his third of the night was also his 400th of his NHL career, all with the Bruins franchise, of course.
This is what Bergy had to say after the game:
"It was in Montreal that people told me I was three goals away from 400, so I guess I knew heading into the game. That being said, it is special, and the one thing that's special is the fact that I've scored all the goals with the Bruins. That's the biggest thing I take out of it. It's been a great ride with one organization and something that doesn't happen often. I'm proud of that ... it's one of those things for me that those milestones are always based on the help of your teammates and what they do to what you accomplish."
What Patrice Bergeron said in his media coverage is the definition of what a true captain is. His modesty and the praise he puts on his teammates for the work they put into his accomplishments is what makes him great.
Bergy went on to discuss the powerplay ending the drought and broke down what he saw from his milestone 400th goal. Listen to the captain's full media coverage below:
