The Boston Bruins' penalty kill was perfect Friday night against the Carolina Hurricanes, killing five of five opportunities they had.

The excellent shorthanded unit was led by the unsung hero of game three, defenseman Derek Forbort. Forbort led the way with nine blocks and 6:45 of total shorthanded ice time.

Forbort spoke to Boston Bruins' digital reporter Erik Russo after the team's morning practise on Saturday. He discussed his role, and he understands what he brings to the ice:

"Being a good penalty killer is part of my role, and we took a lot of penalties last night, so I got out there a little more than usual. It's definitely fun when you kill them off."

Derek Forbort will go unnoticed all season long, but he's the type of player any team needs in the postseason, and it's at this time of the season that they shine.

Just like Bruce Cassidy said last night, "He's a popular guy. He is very quiet, doesn't say much, talks about him and his dog." That description rings even more true after listening to his latest interview. A very modest man of few words!
