The Boston Bruins lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 4-0 on Thursday night. Although the Bruins did not play badly, firing 52 shots on the Penguin's net throughout the game.

After the game, head coach Bruce Cassidy, goaltender Jeremy Swayman and captain Patrice Bergeron were made available to the media. First, Cassidy was asked what he thought went wrong in the game:

"I think when we needed a timely save tonight, we didn't get it, obviously we didn't finish any plays either ... We knew they were going to be good in the first, they were ... and give their guy credit, he made a lot of good stops, we need to finish better, we've been struggling to score here the last little bit."

Swayman was asked about how opportunistic the Penguins were last night:

"We're so good defensively, and the only chances they're going to get are grade A's and good chances, so they gotta make plays ... and unfortunately, I couldn't come up with the stops"

It was a tough loss as the Boston Bruins set a franchise record for the most shots in a game (52) and not scoring a goal. At one point in the first, the Bruins led 10-1 in shots but were losing the game 1-0. Back-to-backs this weekend at home against the New York Rangers and on the road against the Montreal Canadiens will be an excellent opportunity to get back on track before playoffs, with the hope of some players returning from injury.
