Back in the off-season just ahead of training camp, the Boston Bruins and Tyler Johnson agreed to a professional tryout.
Tyler Johnson did not get a contract with the Boston Bruins until November 4th signing a one-year, $775,000 contract.
Since signing the contract, Johnson has not appeared in many games for the Boston Bruins, and found himself being healthy scratched multiple games in a row.
So far this season Tyler Johnson has only appeared in 9 games with the Boston Bruins and has only recorded two assists in that time.
According to the Boston Bruins and Elliotte Friedman, the Bruins have placed Tyler Jonson on unconditional waivers for purposes of contract termination.
With the Boston Bruins going out and picking up Oliver Wahlstrom who is a younger player with a higher ceiling than Johnson due to the age difference, there is clearly now no room for Tyler Johnson with the Boston Bruins.
If no one ends up claiming Tyler Johnson by the 2 p.m. deadline Friday, the Boston Bruins will terminate his contract and he will no longer have a contract in the NHL.
