It's been suggested in rumors these days that Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery may be on a short leash this upcoming season as the team seeks to improve it's standing and go further in the playoffs.

It's hard to believe that the Bruins would consider firing him at the moment as the team has been depleted down the middle and are currently working on solidifying more offense. General manager Don Sweeney has been quiet this offseason as he only has signed 2 major stars in Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm.

Montgomery has worked with this group over the past two seasons and has done a great job considering how his lineup has been depleted. During his time with the Bruins he has gone 112-22-20 during the regular season and has taken the Bruins to the playoffs with two second round exits.

There are certain pressures that head coaches feel, and Bruins fans certainly would like to see their team take the next step forward in trying To go on a long run in the attempt to winning another cup with Brad Marchand as their captain.

But it's safe to say that general manager Don Sweeney still has plenty of work to do as he needs to secure his number one goaltender in Jeremy Swayman now that he has broken up one of the best tandems in the NHL.

He also needs to work on trying to improve his secondary scoring along with his bottom 6 which appears to be one of the weakest bottom 6 in recent memory of the Bruins. But all pressure will fall on Montgomery's shoulders as all coaches feel.
