Corrado was on TSN 1050's Overdrive when he brought up the idea of reuniting with the former Leafs winger. He thought the familiarity with the organization would be a selling point for both the club and JVR.
He also emphasized how good of a depth player JVR is, as he scored 38 points( 11 G, 27 A) with the Boston Bruins last season.
While he's past his prime, at age 35 he could prove to be a useful depth addition, with is versatility. He can be moved up and down the lineup, and be utilized on the power-play as well.
The Leafs could use JVR's presence on the 2nd power-play unit, according to Corrado which struggled in the playoffs.
The veteran winger could be an affordable addition, considering the Maple Leafs have limited cap space.
With Nick Robertson wanting a way out of Toronto to get a chance to play elsewhere, it might be smart for Brad Treliving to consider the veteran for a bottom-six option in the future.
He could be a leadership option and give the team an advantage in the post-season when they need it the most.
